E3 returns in 2021 as a Virtual Event

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is bringing E3 back in 2021 as a free all-virtual event. Last year’s E3 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the gaming industry boomed last year with people spending more time at home. So making E3 into a virtual event while the pandemic drags into the second year makes sense.

A number of studios and publishers are expected to reveal content at E3 including Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, and Kick Media.

Although this year’s event is going to be virtual, the ESA has said it expects to transition back to an in-person event for 2022.
