Twitter testing $2.99/mo subscription service named Twitter Blue

Twitter is testing a premium subscription service currently named Twitter Blue. It would allow for some paid features like being able to undo tweets, and collections to save and organize your favorite tweets. The current price point is estimated to be $2.99/mo, although they are also looking at multiple tiers with different features at each tier.

Although many people, celebrities, and companies use Twitter, it’s still way down the popularity list from the other Social Media giants like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. Reddit has more active users than Twitter.

So although I’m personally indifferent to a paid premium Twitter service this does raise some questions for me. After Facebook’s spat with Apple about not allowing location tracking, what if they were to start a paid service as well? How many Social Media sites would follow suit, and how many would you be willing to pay for?
